The Third BHD Symposium took place in Maastricht, the Netherlands, on 11th and 12th May 2011. Thank you to all who attended and made the Symposium a very exciting gathering.

The aims of the Third BHD Symposium were to communicate advances in the understanding, management and treatment of Birt-Hogg-Dubé (BHD) syndrome and, for the first time, of hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC), as well as to promote collaboration among researchers in these and related fields. Keynote talks, abstract presentations and a poster exhibition covered basic and clinical research in BHD and HLRCC. Abstracts of submissions can be found here.

Patient- and family-centred sessions were also scheduled.
