Dr Fred Menko is consultant clinical geneticist at the Department of Clinical Genetics at VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. An important focus in his work is hereditary renal cancer, including Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome and hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer. He is part of the team that identified a novel lookalike syndrome of BHD, familial multiple discoid fibromas. Dr Menko is editor-in-chief of the journal Familial Cancer.
