Professor Frank McCormack

Dr Frank McCormack is Taylor Professor and Director of the Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine Division at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Professor McCormack is an expert in lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) and other cystic lung diseases. LAM and BHD are due to mutations in genes that control growth and energy utilization through intersecting pathways in the cell, and because they share many molecular, cellular and biological features, it is likely that the study of LAM will help scientists understand BHD and vice versa. Professor McCormack is very active in the LAM community and is Scientific Director of The LAM Foundation. Professor McCormack also leads a research group investigating pulmonary innate immunity and mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis.
