The BHD Literature Database has been updated with the article by Starink et al, evaluating familial multiple trichodiscomas in 8 families and renaming this condition familial multiple discoid fibromas (FMDF). The authors described FMDF as distinct from BHD, characterised primarily by discoid fibromas (skin lesions similar to but distinct from fibrofolliculomas) and no evident pulmonary or renal involvement. Additionally, the authors concluded that FMDF is not linked to the FLCN locus.
