Amick et al., (2016) recently published a study showing that the C9orf72 protein, structuraly similar to folliculin (FLCN), the Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome tumor suppressor, binds SMCR8, localizes to lysosomes and regulates mTORC1 signaling.
